Kaoru is a ghost/spirit possessing Koori's new body.
They have no gender and as such I'd prefer it to sound more neutral but it doesn't need to be.
Kaoru additionally shows up in Koori's headspace or as a head voice from time to time.
"So what will it be? Your friend or you?" [sly/evilish undertone, making a deal]
"Welcome to Ageron child! Um... your body kind of changed but I think it's because we both occupy it now? It's hard to explain." [excited welcome, slowly becoming unsure]
"I am not sure if this child is naive or just stupid." [annoyed]
