I'm honestly not sure what to put here... well, hello would probably be a good start?
My name is Nexus Prime, but you can call me Nexus for short. I am an aspiring voice actor looking to do most any project that has a passion behind it. Be it a comic dub, manga fan dub, short animation, or what have you, i'll give it my all as long as I am needed and everyone enjoys the work they do.
I guess I should give a little backstory for my passion? If you want to read it, it'll be here.
Ever since I was little, probably seven or eight years old, I always wanted to become a voice actor. Be it a hero, a villian, or just a friend to one of the characters, I wanted to provide a voice for someone. In terms of WHAT inspired me, I would have to say it was probably a old show called The Transformers (1984).
A lot of people might think "Oh, you were inspired by Optimus Prime" or "Oh you must have really liked Megatron". To an extent, yes I was, but those weren't the two roles that really stuck with me as a kid. The two characters that I enjoyed seeing and hearing the most were Soundwave and Shockwave.
Don't get me wrong, Frank Welker will always be Megatron in my heart, but his portraile as Soundwave always stuck with me for just how he could pull off monotone WITH emotion in it.
Not to mention the dry and ultimately logical tone of Shockwave given to him by Corey Burton, another behemoth of a voice actor, completely nailed Shockwave's voice for me.
Ever since then, i've continued to enjoy both their work and many others, but ultimately those two are the ones who inspired me the most to choose this path.
In the end, weather i'm playing a hero, villian, or a supporting character, I just hope that I can inspire someone out there someday like those two inspired me, giving them a voice that will stick with them for as long as they remember it.
