Unisex. Became a vampire back in the 2000s, uses a lot of the 2000s slang, and is very much a product of their upbringing.
A former Blockbuster employee who collects VHS tapes like trading cards, despite not owning a VHS player. They fall in love with the LIBRARY WORKER because of their kindness and long neck, truly fighting their instinct to eat the worker. They are in recovery because they feel that their parasitical ways are destructive. Has a FAMILIAR who they use to get things from in exchange for the promise of becoming a vampire someday. Hates EX for obvious reasons. Has close friends in the recovery group.
A part of the role will require voice actors to use a face mask while recording as this is a common trait the character has in order to interact with humans without attracting suspicion. These instances will be noted in the script. A slight accent (preferably Northeastern United States) is preferred for the role, but entirely optional. If you plan on auditioning with a slight accent it would be preferred if you include a more neutral form of an American accent.
This role is a double role, as Luca's subconscious comes into play sometime in Part Two. The subconscious is a manifestation of their fear of returning to their old ways.
My familiar is (or was as it seems they’re probably going to Rikers Island), in college. It was a religious school. I couldn't crash on their couch, there were too many crucifixes.
[You're standing up and addressing a small crowd of vampires in recovery.] My name is Luca, and I'm a vampire. I was bitten almost twenty years ago when I was rewinding tapes at Blockbuster for a living. I've been neck-free for nearly one month, which my familiar calls "No Neck November". I don't understand what that means, but I think it's pretty good.
