CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Eli is the father of Liam. Eli was in a group with his wife and son during the early times of the apocalypse. He was always for pushing forward and never wanted to settle or relax. Many members of the large group he was in either died or left on their own, eventually leaving only him, his wife, and son to survive. His wife was eventually infected and Eli was forced to kill her and lied to his son Liam about her committing suicide. Eli is a strong person willing to do whatever he can for his son and sees Samuel, one of the main protagonists, as a past parallel of himself.

Eli VA Direction:

Line #1: You are still wary of trusting strangers, which Samuel very much is. You don’t quite believe his story just yet, so you’re being inquisitive while also prodding about his past.

Line #2: You’re very worried about what Samuel is willing to sacrifice to keep his niece safe. You want to know if your life, and especially your son’s life is in danger just being around him.

Line #3: You need Sam to understand that if he continues to walk the roads and wander, that it’ll eventually catch up to him and his girl. You know Samuel is strong and will be able to protect her, but at some point he needs to realize that settling down and finding good people is necessary. Never staying anywhere can only lead to accidents and death.

  • Eli: [takes a seat] *exhales* So, Samuel? Mind telling me how you and that girl stumbled upon those cleaners?

  • Eli: How much are you willing to risk for that girl? Your life? Ours?

  • Eli: For God Sake Sam, that’s not what I'm saying! Look, there is no doubt in my mind that you will protect that girl… Especially from whatever the hell this fucked up world throws at you. But Sam, look at me when I say this, If y’all keep going on like this… That girl aint gonna make it.
