Hey, I'd like to ask–what equipment do you use? Your voice is excellent, but it sounds to me as though you are using a De-Esser, or some kind of plugin which is cutting out parts of your sound frequency too much.
I'm not amazing at knowing my equipment, but I do believe I am using a De - Esser.
In that case, I reccommend you reaudition without the De-Esser. I can hear parts of the waveform that are reduced and quiet, where they shouldn't be. Your audition does have potential, so I would like for you to try again.
Hi...So I actually think I don't have a De - Esser. I'm so sorry, I got confused. I have a condenser microphone, no specific brand from what I can tell. So what would I do to fix this problem?
Actually, now that you mention it... perhaps the problem is not so much with your interface of plugins. But it sounds like there might be a problem with relaying signal along your XLR cable. Can I ask: Do you have a lisp? It sounds as though you have some difficulty in pronouncing words that contain sibilance; like in this part: 'But... I'm off(sh)cially called the Ultimate Magi(sh)cian'. I noticed that this part sounds noticeably quieter than the rest of the audition. I don't want to come off as judgemental or prejudiced, because I think your Himiko impression is an excellent attempt. However, the more I listen to your audio, it just sounds like it has been meddled with in post-production, and I cannot put my finger on what it is that makes your voice audio file different to other peoples'. It is as though there is some kind of noise gate or filter being used that abruptly cuts out or heavily reduces noise that falls below a certain threshold. That is the best way I can describe it.
It's alright I understand, and I do think I might have some sort of lisp as that problem usually does happen when I record, I never knew how to fix it. I do not think I meddled much with my audio in post-production but yeah, I think it may be because I have some sort of lisp, I understand if you can't choose my audition because of that. It might be too much noise removal? That can usually cut out frequencies.
