SCP: Falling From Grace
Solaire_Kun for The Confidant
A mysterious figure unseen by the Protagonist, The Confidant acts as a guardian for the player as they attempt to escape the ruined site; the player never sees this man, and their conversations occur entirely over radio. Although he may seem to have benevolent intentions, his agenda is still unclear; a fact that will become apparently clear to the player as they progress through the many levels and horrors of the site.
NOTE: This character will have extensive voicelines, and in large quantity, as they are an integral aspect of the gameplay experience.
[[In somewhat of a musing manner]]:
What's—funny, I suppose, is that people believe their understanding of the world to be just, and true, and absolute. That it is unwaveringly accurate to some form of universal truth—[[quickly]] of course, that whole concept developed by people who made such an assumption—that they somehow understand all that could be understood. And, when the world undoubtably proves them wrong, they feel shock. Confusion. How could they be so wrong? People don't understand anything. They never will.
[[Somewhat rushed but not lightspeed; communicating instructions over radio]]:
There’s three more data cores stored within the facility. The site director had one in his office, they had one in the Heavy Containment Zone they were using to log research data, and there was one in the lower testing area of the Research Zone. I can direct power from the comms relay to the Heavy Containment entrance; the director's office is close by. Start there.
[[Somewhat rushed, speaking in urgency; communicating instructions over radio]]:
If there’s anyone on comms, listen to me; Site Eighty-Six is experiencing a serious containment breach. Site lockdown has been initiated and an SOS Beacon should have been activated. If anyone can hear me on this channel, click your radio three times in quick succession, or just reply to me.
