“I'm Adelaide. Adelaide Selani, like the penguins.”

                    (Someone interjects and corrects her, saying that's it's actually Adélie penguins, not Adelaide)

                    “Oh ... but they still live near Adelaide, don't they? I like penguins.”

Notices everyone being uneasy after the announcement)

                     “It’ll be fine everyone! ...I’ve been in things like these before. They won't hurt us, not if we cooperate with them.

                     (Spreads her arms in an attempt to look cheerful)

                     “This is gonna be like our ... new safe haven! Yeah, I mean, they wouldn't go out of their way to make all of these things if they just wanted to kill us.”

Gives a faint smile when the other person asks her why she's so optimistic)

                      “I guess, it really looks like that to other people, huh? I know they might see me as being a bit naive and clueless, but that's not the point. I'm actually scared too. So scared that I can't even sleep at night sometimes.

                     But-”

                     (Stretches her arms and sighs as she relaxes)

                     “ -I don't really want to live like that anymore. Despair and sadness with no end in sight. That's not me, and that's not the ending I have in mind for myself.”

                     (Glances at the other person, and laughs a delightful laugh)

                     “I must sound quite out of character to you right now. This will be our little secret, okay? We’ll always have tomorrow.” (Smiles softly)
