Bubblegum Crisis: The Audio Drama (arcs 4 & 5)
loopmoploop for Defense Minister Callahan
Callahan is a small man in a big job. He coordinates the various member-states of the United Nations space projects for the USSD. In effect, he's a paper pushing middle manager. Which he is only too happy to throw in the face of kidnappers when he and his daughter are abducted. That said, the man is hiding an evil secret. He's been abusing his teenage daughter, because he thinks he can get away with it.
Callahan is described as a large, very bluff man. I picture his voice assounding a lot like John Wayne, with less of a slow drawl. However, that's only a starting point. Feel free to experiment.
(He's mocking his kidnapper)
“My title sounds grand, but the U.S.S.D. is basically a CIVILIAN agency.I just liaise with the major powers of the U.N. For all intents and purposes, I'm a MIDDLE MAN, you twit.“So break out the serrated knives and bulbs of acid. Or, if you'd like to not waste time, I can tell you we have 106 fully armed satellite weapons, roughly 400 spy satellites belonging to various member states, and three operational space stations deployed in orbit right now. Of course, that's all public record since, you know, telescopes still exist.”
(He's in pain form being tortured, and is grudgingly revealing some secrets.)
“After the incident at the Cybergenics building last year... the U.S.S.D.Put new safeguards in place for all tactical satellites. Boomers couldn't be trusted anymore, they'd been hacked from somewhere on the ground.”
