Balil is an older Nord man who is frequently in a sour mood. He's not old as in elder age, but he's still an older man. His constant grumpiness earned him the title of Crow. Balil's wife died a few years back due to the frost of Skyrim. His son and daughter ran off to be Stormcloaks and fight in the war. He's all but certain they've died in battle. He spends most of his time at the Tavern, where he attempts to drink his woes away.
"Get out of here fool! I'm in no mood to celebrate anything."
"Oh? What's that? You don't quite like my tone? Too bad! There's going to be a lot of things in your life you won't like. You can't do anything about them. Believe me, I've tried!"
"It's painful to listen to your yammering. But I suppose you wouldn't understand pain. Tell you something you dumb mutt, pain is waiting in this tavern for months on end. Watching sip after sip, glass after glass, of ale disappear while any sense of hope does the same."

You're welcome. I know you mentioned you were looking for grumpy over sad, so I tried to rile him up a bit. Let me know if you need another take or accent, I just did that with my voice recorder on my phone, so it's just "okay" sound quality. The quality was definitely usable from what I heard so don't cut yourself there. Recording on a phone is a bit inconvenient though isn't it? I feel like it would be. And yeah he does sound pretty riled up. Gives me a good image of a drunk in a bar looking to fight.
