  • You're-going-to-like-me! You're-going-to-like-me! Did it work?

  • Squall? You have to voice your feelings or else I won't understand.

  • I guess...I'm getting scared. Sometimes...when I'm with all of you... I...feel like we're on the same wavelength......you know? But when the battles start happening, it's different. Everyone's tempo seems to pick up and... ...I get left behind. I try to catch up, but it's no use... How far is everyone going? I can't hear anyone... Once I catch up, I wonder... Is everyone safe? Will they welcome me with open arms? ......Is everyone ok? Will we all make it back together?

"You're going to like me" - 0:29 was the best take. But you swallowed the first 'me' instead of drawing it out, which would have made it more entrancing. A good take would involve saying the first part like as though you were saying "You are getting veeeery sleepy" as overly dramatic (and and also a bit seductive) as possible....pausing for a moment and saying cutely "Did it work?". You're crushing the "Did it work?" (saying it too fast). I like that you're using the hypnotism approach here. She even holds her fingers in front of his face when she says it.... I think that's what Mr. Joe was going for but the hyphens misconveyed it as being broken apart. "Voice your feelings" - 0:40, strongest take. I like the lifted inflection of "Squall" the most at 0:45, but you're whispering it...which is not as effective and ruins what was otherwise a good line. On that note, avoid using too many voice interpretations in the same audition (i almost always stick with one and merely alter the flow and change a couple inflections. I might use 2 if I feel like the director might want an accent, but I try to create the distinction between the 2 voices when I record). You switch a lot between accent and no accent, low and high, normal and embellished. You might think it increases your chances because it gives the director more options, but it actually makes you seem indecisive. It's our job to convince him this voice we picked is the best and use that voice in different ways....not make him pick a voice from a list. It is a good approach when you make a side character reel however. Again, better than the first take.

I am wondering why you didn't try to redo the "on the verge of tears" interpretation of her monologue. That was probably the strongest bit from your first audition.

Alrighty!! I'll do one last retake tomorrow. Thank you so much for the advice.
