[18+] Blue Star - An Erotic Mass Effect Animated Series
moonsaf8ari for Jack / Subject Zero
A violent childhood of experimentation and abuse bred a powerfully independent, lawless, and arguably psychopathic young woman in Jack. Her voice is fairly gritty, and she is an obstensibly blunt and crass individual. Not one for beating around the bush or sugar-coating things, Jack isn't afraid to tell you exactly how she feels and where you can shove it. Pacifism and Jack are no friends - she is just as liable to blow something up for fun as she is to blow something up for a purpose. The most powerful human biotic alive, with a penchant for violence and a hunger for sex, Jack's daily routine could be summed up as "eat, sleep, have sex, and kill." Emphasis on having sex and killing.
Originally voiced by Courtenay Taylor, you can click here for a small sample of Jack's voice, for reference.
So fuck you... and thanks for asking.
They thought they were so clever. Turns out, mess with someone's head enough, and you can turn a scared kid into an all-powerful bitch. Fucking idiots.
Her ass is mine!
Howdy, Moon! So, first things first (and I apologize if I'm sounding like a broken record with this!): I really appreciate you taking the time to audition for the role, and showing interest in the project! Means a lot to me! I like your voice, and particularly the candidness / naturalness you take on the role with. The lines are very authentic, and definitely feels like it's you saying them and not a character saying them. I definitely feel like there is a potential Jack in you. That being said, your recording definitely needs some clean-up. I suspect you just slapped open Audacity, hit record, shot straight for the moon, hit save, and went straight to uploading - and that's great, the eagerness is respectable, but the consequent quality does suffer from that. Post-processing is, unfortunately, a necessary evil. The biggest concern is the hiss, which is very noticeable. I would definitely look into performing some noise removal on that - I think that alone will raise the quality of the recording by miles! Similarly, the recording of the mouse clicks is very distracting, and should be cut out in post - just give a pause between finishing a line, clicking whatever you need to click, and then delivering. Then, simply cut out the click, which is conveniently cushioned by two bits of silence. As a final note, while I appreciated the candidness of the recording, there is a point where candidness goes too far. I suspect that you were cognizant of the fact you probably flubbed the last line, which is why you made a second take of it. In future auditions, especially with people who might be as forgiving and understanding as I am, that is something that should get the axe in post - if you know you flubbed the line, just chop it out. You're not making a behind-the-scenes reel, but an audition for a role. Leaving those sorts of things in is not professional, and will make more skeptical clients turn away from you in a heartbeat. Like I said, I like your voice and the naturalness with which you approached the role. You might even have the makings of a good Jack, but the recording is just too muddy to tell for certain right now. I want to see you succeed, even if not with this project, then with future endeavors. And that's why I am trying to help you out here. :)
