Joshua Stokes for Detective Tarenez
A handsome, brilliant detective assigned to work on the AK task-force. He exudes confidence and cockiness, which many believe to be due to his high-ego. Despite this, he gets away with most of his actions due to his charismatic nature, and, as he likes to call it, award-winning smile. Throughout season one he works alongside Audrey, growing as a character to become more open, respecting, and listening to others more in his life.
*Note* - For parts in his audition lines where there is another character speaking to Tarenez, only say his lines. Read one, pause, and then the next, as if he was actually having a conversation.
[Audrey and Tarenez get back to the car they drove. They just finished talking to one of the witnesses from one of the crime scenes. Halfway through Tarenez stopped taking it seriously, only to flirt with the female witness. This caused Audrey to have a harder time getting information. They just got back to the car they drove in together]
(Audrey stops outside the car, blocking Taranez's path. She hisses out, narrowing her eyes at the male - "What the fuck was that. Do you think you're being funny or cute?")
Tarenez - "I think I'm adorable."
(Audrey - Goes on to chew him out about the situation/how he handled it)(When she finally stops) Tarenez - " Are we going to fight or make-out because I'm getting real mixed signals here."
[In a meeting room in the police station. Tarenez is sitting at a table with the rest of the team. They are talking over the newest bit of information/crime scene. There is rising tension in the room as Tarenez, and another member begin butting heads]
(Frustrated) Taranez - " Yeah, I'm being an ass and I'm sorry. But right now, we have a group of murderers running around, we have barely any leads, and zero way to predict what they’re going to do next! We are no fucking closer to stopping them now than we were a month ago!"[Tarenez spotted one of the criminals they'd been tracking down walking through the city. Tailing the felon through some of the poorer neighborhoods, he messages the task-group, turning on his location to be tracked. The convict walks into a more dilapidated, office building. Tarenez, who was watching from across the street is about to head over, but is stopped by Audrey popping up beside him - asking what the plan was. He whirls towards her shocked/scared, just having stopped his reflex of socking her in the face]
Tarenez - "How the hell did you get here so fast?!"
(Audrey gestures to a mini-van a bit down the street - I confiscated a car for...officer use)(Both shocked, proud, and finding the situation amusing/funny) Tarenez - *Laughs "That's my partner!"
