Doctor Liara T'Soni is generally soft-spoken, with a decidedly breathy feel to her voice. She can raise her voice and be rather intimidating when she needs to be, but by and large prefers her more natural, demure vocal volume. Similarly, she is by and large a pacifist, as an archaeologist by trade, and prefers non-violent solutions to otherwise tense situations. She can and will defend herself, should the need arise, and in the event that her patience runs dry, she can be a force to trifle with, using powerful biotics and a strong proficiency in handguns to quickly neutralize her opponents.

Originally voiced by Ali Hillis, you can click here for a small sample of Liara's voice, for reference.

  • Armali, back on Thessia. My mother and I lived beside a park.

  • Be with whoever you want to be with - I'm just not interested in playing games anymore!

  • There must be more power nodes on the other side!

Howdy Incognita! I was stunned with your performance of the "Armali" line! I've sent you a private message, for further discussion on a few points, but I just wanted to make a public statement here saying how much I love your performance. My only criticisms are that the recording is slightly echo-y (that may be the acoustics of your room: if your room is a bit on the small side, then you could try hanging some thick towels on the walls, to help absorb the sound of your voice before it bounces back to the microphone - a low-budget soundproofing solution, completely do-it-yourself!), and to maybe see if you can better control the flow of your breath before a line. The beginning of each line has a noticeable inhale or exhale as you prepare yourself for the line - I would experiment to see if you can get away with cutting that out in post, or practice working on a subtler, more controlled breathing. Other than that, though, I love it!

Hey there! Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to critique! The software that I use defaults with a setting that has quite a bit of reverb to it, so that may be reason for the echo; as for the breaths, my auditions are usually done in one take, and the inhales/exhales help with my adjustments for certain lines! They can certainly be cut out though, so it's not trouble on my end! I'm glad that you liked it!
