The Librarian was a member of the Man-Machine Ascendancy, the regime that arose to fight mutantkind during the Human-Machine-Mutant War which saw the rise of homo novissima, successors of homo sapiens, and the near-extinction of mutants. The Librarian kept the few remaining mutants in a Preserve. I always pictured his voice as sort of distant, like he's detached from it all.
We are losing them... and there's nothing I can do to prevent it. There's too much machinery floating around inside there... and not enough soul to save, let alone a copy.
I know this part. It's a Titan theory... It states that at the heart of every black hole in the universe there is actually a super-massive machine brain... each one containing the collective intelligence of a society so advanced that it collapsed in on itself.
I believe the scientific term is Homo Novissima... the end of the evolutionary line. The last man that will ever be. Your personal memory may differ, but historical records imply you mutants never really saw what was coming. It's sad, really... The idea that you were what was next. Evolutionary inevitable.
