(Prior to this dialogue, which opens up the play) Hazel has come to Raveena and Gus because she wants to seek revenge on her ex-boyfriend, Lewis, who has broken her heart and possibly killed her cat. She says this dialogue to them because her friends had always told her it wasn't really about the cat, but about his loss of control of her.
