Non-traditional, unorthodox and all-around laid back are words that describe Mineko. She doesn't like it when her students call her by "Miss Kono" and would rather have them refer to her as "Miss Mineko" or "Mineko" as she feels it's better to be on a personal level with her students. She doesn't believe in giving out detentions or yelling at her students to get their attention. She feels that if she treats them as if they're on the same level then they'll respect her more as an educator.  This method has thrust her into the spotlight as the most requested 11th-grade teacher at Central Arts.  She is playful with her students and teases them a lot whenever they're in class such as giving out month-long homework (a joke) and even telling them it's national bug your least favorite teacher day.  It is known that most of the other teachers like Mineko to a point that they go out of their way not to question her methods of running a classroom whereas some teachers believe that she should be fired for making a mockery of the educational system.

Mineko spends a lot of her lunch breaks either in the teacher's lounge playing app games. She also basks in knowing all she can about each of her coworkers so she can better get along with them. Though there are some people she steers clear of as she finds them to either be cold, distant, and downright scary or because she deems them to be boring. She does have a bit of a good relationship with everyone but does have a few people who don't like her and she's ok with that.  She cannot stand Marshall Jennings and finds him to be someone she'd much rather toss out into traffic or find a way to issue an airstrike against. They're always at odds with one another as the latter calls Mineko irresponsible, a ditz, an idiot, and unfit to hold the title of teacher.  The two are almost always avoiding one another in the hallways and teacher lounge. their hatred has gotten so bad that they're told to sit on opposite sides of the room during staff meetings.

Mineko works closely with Thomas Austin, who is the band teacher and the only person that really comes to her rescue whenever she's being belittled or when she has moments of letting Marshall's words get to her. Thomas sees Mineko as more than a coworker and sees her as a friend though there are rumors there's something more between them of course this is idle gossip.

  • Sorry, I’m so late. I ran out to get a few things for my students.

  • [ANGRILY; THREATING] You better be lucky Tommy’s holding me back!

  • That's right everyone! Keep up with the flow of the rhythm! Let the music overtake your body and soul.
