Nice man, if that's the kinda voice you wanna go for I can help. There's a certain way of speaking (which I call Vocal Compression, or Vocom) from the back of the throat near the top, try speaking like some cartoonish old grandpa, it should feel like you're speaking while holding in your breath. After some practice, try lightly speaking and your voice /should/ begin to croak, and at that point you've pretty much got it nailed :) best of luck buddy.
