Captain Kibbles is first introduced to be a strict, exacting, threatening, and borderline aggressive captain in the film- berating Ren for being late and going on a tirade about a vomiting passenger. But then, he reveals that he only took up that persona to playfully mess around with Ren, and it turns out that Captain Kibbles is, in reality, a very friendly, bubbly, approachable, mentor-like figure. For the rest of the film, Kibbles is supportive of Ren, maintaining a professional but relaxed/friendly atmosphere, that the docile Ren wouldn't expect from a captain. Captain Kibbles' character is a direct contrast to Ren. Although Kibbles is just as diligent and professional, he is calm, lucid and unworried instead of being tense and anxious. When Ren talks to others, he acts exceedingly and tensely docile and inoffensive- in contrast, Captain Kibbles is more candid, natural and authentic in his conversations. 

To get into the character of Captain Kibbles, take up the personality of someone who's chill and unworried, unnerved by the task of flying a plane, and remaining friendly, conversational, yet professional. 

Captain Kibbles' character requires more performative ability- taking up an aggressive and rigid persona at the beginning of the film, and then transforming into a much more friendly and approachable person. 

Please note, the ability to mock a posh, British accent in an exaggerated manner is required for this role.
