Claire Woods is the mother of Rue Woods and the deceased wife of Preston Woods. After being slaughtered Claire became Rue's guardian angel throughout her travels. Rue suppressed her for so long and only came to her in flashbacks. Now the Rue is trying to turn her life around, Claire becomes a valuable part of Rue's life as a mentor despite Rue only seeing her.
