"Team Anime" Tournament Qualifier (5/8): Game Anime
Heatseekin for Shopkeeper
The shopkeeper is ready to make a buck at the sight of their adventurers! Never a dull moment when money is in the air!
Perhaps you are not of the appropriate level to handle such a weapon.
I suggest you buy yourself one! Even if it is because I am the only shopkeeper in all of Baroan!
Now now, why the long face? I'll give you one, but it won't be cheap!
Hey Soup! I told you I'd be here and so I am! I'm not going to necessarily critique, but rather just tell you what I hear in this audition! After listening to the entire audition, it sounded like you weren't familiar or comfortable with the lines. There is a bit of, what I interpreted as stutter/hesitation. Line 2 is the best example, but trace amounts can be found throughout the audition! When a casting director is listening to an audition, hesitation is a clear sign of a few possible things. Perhaps nerves, or worse, they are unfamiliar with the script. This is a big red flag for casting directors as it shows a lack of attention to the very project itself. So be careful of that! Always make sure you are comfortable with the lines, and can read them effortlessly in your regular voice! Second! Play into your strengths! You sound like you have a more nasally voice! I would try playing into your natural voice as much as possible. Because without proper training and experience, when we deviate from natural, it becomes easy to sound "unnatural." I don't believe you hit the emotional points you were trying to convey. As a result there are a lot of spots in this audition, that I listened to and just thought, "I wonder what you were going for." Additionally, I want to add that I am not of the individuals judging this qualifier role, While I am apart of AVAT, I just want to give my two cents and try and provide more people with feedback! I hope this critique, while perhaps harsh, helps you out! I'm gonna try and comment on a few of your other auditions since it sounds like you are doing some different things!
