The cart clattered over cobbles as Peak and his dubious wares trundled down Chiselwik Lane.  

From his tatty hat to his paper thin-soled shoes The man looked as though he could have written the book on general dishevelment or at least a rather dog-eared journal with lots of doodles in the margins. 

In a world full of fantastical phenomena and a city overflowing with curiosities Mr Peak was perhaps the least fantastical or curious looking man around.
