Line 2) Another ship is lining up to make a pass on the ship after they have been taking a beating for sometime. Not a panicked line, but the captain knows he is now prolonging the inevitable

Line 3) After a long fight, the captain is about to be executed. Being a family man, his thoughts dwell on his wife.
