The protagonist of this abridged episode. Yuki is a coward who is just trying to get through his day while avoiding the advances of your normal, everyday stalker. He is thrown into a death game unknowingly where he uses his phone to predict the future to get an advantage over his opponents. The problem is, every participant has a power like that!

We are looking for a cowardly/socially-awkward type of tone for him.

P.S. It's cause-ality, guys.

  • (Realizing, then stupidly happy) Wait a second I have the powers of causality at my whim… What should I do with it? CHEAT AT MATH!! YAY!!!!

  • (Running away, terrified) A hot girl is chasing me! I can’t believe that 4chan chain post was right!  The hottest girl in school is trying to kill me with calculus!

So I'm getting quite a bit of peaking from your mic and it sounds pretty echoey in your recording space. Something to be aware of.

I do like the fact that you are able to yell that is encouraging. Being loud and not being shy behind the mic is good. However on some of the lines it sounds too goofy. "Specifically when you deliver the I have the powers of causality at my whim. What should I do with it?" Its good to have that goofiness on the last part, but I think it's too much on the others.

Thank you for your feedback. Would a blanket covering me fix that mic problem? I tried normalizing the peaking. do you need a retake?

It would probably but if you peak in your audio all you can do is just retake and turn down the gain. You might also try a compressor on a preamp which would help stem the leaking tremendously but that's on the higher end pre-amps.

Sorry for the noob question but what is a "compressor on a preamp?" I'm learning as I go and feedback has helped me learn a ton of new terms.

No problem. A compressor is an effect in your audio processor (audacity or whatever software you use) that brings your louds softer past a certain point. Your audio interface is the box between your mic and the computer in an xlr setup. Do you have a usb mic?

Sorry preamp is the same as audio interface.

Is it like normalizing? Also, is that preamp the fuzzy thing on microphones or the circular dream catcher like things people use with mics or am I just completely wrong? Thank you for teaching me, I love learning this stuff.

nah the pre-amp is an electronic piece of equipment that is in an xlr mic setup. The thing you are referring to is the pop filter that helps block air from getting to the mic to prevent blowing sounds in the mic.

Also what kind of mic are you using?

Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone. I heard it was really good for voice acting.

so the at2020 is probably one of the better USB mics you will find but when you start getting into xlr mics the world opens up. USB mics have a problem because they send signals straight through to the computer versus having a mic that has a pre amp or audio interface to provide power to the mic itself and not having that electric signal come through the recording.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, I don't see me making enough money off of this to offset the cost of a better one. However, I am in a few paid roles, so yay.
