The Hylian knight who must liberate the land of Hyrule from Calamity Ganon when he awakens 100 years after the kingdom's demise. True to the tradition of the Zelda series, Link is a silent protagonist, never uttering a single recognizable word. However, "Breath of the Wild" provides a concrete reason for his refusal to speak: after being chosen by the Master Sword to seal away the darkness, Link closes into himself, vowing to stoically bear the weight of his responsibility alone. This leads to some misunderstandings between him and Zelda, who initially believes that his lack of communication is a sign that he hates her. But Link soon proves himself to be the selfless, unwaveringly loyal and courageous savior the world needs, even without a speaking voice. However, he does still communicate his feelings through vocalizations such as grunts, hums, gasps, etc. 

DO: Give him the voice of a typical young man, and provide as many different sounds as you can possibly think of. I felt that he didn't emote enough in many of the cutscenes, so don't be afraid to go all out. 

DON'T: Imitate the canon voice in the game, or any of Link's voices in previous games. I want him to sound like a real person, not a copy-paste sound byte.
