The guardian spirit of the Lost Woods and father to the Koroks of the forest, the Great Deku Tree has spent the last 100 years guarding the Master Sword until the day that Link would return and reclaim it. He only appears in one memory when Zelda first returns the sword to its pedestal following the battle against Calamity Ganon. 

DO: Give him the deep, gentle, subdued voice of a benevolent father. 

DON'T: Make him sound wheezy or creaky like a stereotypical old man. 

  • (gently) If I may be so bold...what is it that you are planning to do next, Princess? I sense there is great strength in your dedication.

  • (chuckles softly) Now then...words intended for him would sound much better in the tones of your voice, don't you think?
