He is just peacefully trying to narrate Yume's story... he can't however, as he always gets interrupted by a certain 4th wall breaking little brat. (;
You can do a lot with your voice for this role. If you want, try doing a fun narrator who really likes the story he's telling. Maybe a more mysterious one? Or you could go with the generic "Narrator Voice", just try whatever you want!

"Yume stared at the picture. The woman's eyes were black... Just like the mirror she sometimes dreams of." (the player interacted with a picture)
"It was a good idea. However, it wouldn't quite work out." (the player tried combining two things which don't work together)
