Hi Peg! Thank you for auditioning! Here are a few thoughts I had while listening to your audition. 1. First and foremost, this is not the right role for you. From the casting perspective, your voice is simply not a good fit for a character like this. Your sound is of maturity, experience, understanding, knowledge. Roles with those attributions would be better suited for a voice like yours. I wish I could play these young adult protagonists, too - but I'm never going to beat out the 20-something year olds that are competing for the same character. Knowing your archetypes will be a huge benefit for your future auditions. 2. The pacing will need to be faster. I love the pauses you're taking, but generally speaking, we don't have that kind of luxury as actors. Typically within the first five seconds, I can tell if a voice actor would be a good fit for the role. Get running right out the gate and impress the casting director right off the bat. The job is to impose enough impression for them to want to keep listening. I hope these comments are helpful to you. Best of luck in your future, and please keep an eye out on this project, as there are other characters that you, specifically, might be well-suited for!
Thank you so much for all of the comments. It is definitely helpful. Love that my sound is of maturity, experience, understanding, and knowledge! That actually makes me feel very good even though it could just make me feel old. HA HA!!!
