KIMCHI STUDIO - My Senpai is Annoying [Manga Dub]
TsuChibi_Castle for Igarashi Futaba
Igarashi Futaba is the female lead in the story.
This actor must be able to show various authentic emotions through the voice. Igarashi has a wide range of expressions and she will definitely test the acting ability of the voice actor.
Here is the Japanese Manga Dub for voice reference:

I highly recommend reading the two scenes linked above, as it will provide the context for the scene.
Actor cast will be asked to deliver the lines for the first four chapters.
(explaining - a tinge of frustration and annoyance, then slowly transitioning to a tinge of endearment. Not too much and not too little of both. Also, looking for proper pronunciation of "senpai")
My senpai is annoying. He's big. He laughs loudly. He just starts petting me. He steps in when I'm being harassed at office parties, he drives me home when I'm drunk, when I mess up he comes with me to apologize.(Again, looking for proper pronunciation of "Takeda-senpai". All inner monologue - a sense of small hope at first, then slightly defeated.)
(thinking) Will Takeda-senpai wear the necktie I gave him...? (surprise reax - he's NOT wearing the tie she gave him. Self-talk:) Come on, I knew this was going to happen. I don't know what he likes, after all.(He asked if he could use the necktie as a decoration for his desk instead.)
(slowly building anger/frustration reax, then explode:) (level 10 explosion:) YOU CAN'T!! (level 7:) What do you think I bought that for?!
(stunned, disbelief reax) (level 9) JUST WEAR IT!!!!
Hi TsuChibi_Castle! Thank you for auditioning! It's clear that you've acted before and you know how to take written directions into your voice acting - that's a big plus! :) Here are a few thoughts I had while listening to your audition: 1. Your recording level is way too low. I'd recommend that you set a gain level for a conversational delivery and another level for the louder stuff. Either way, we want your peaks to be hitting *around* -6 dbs before normalizing. 2. I really liked the transition from annoyance to gratitude with a dose of tsundere in your first take. That's the right direction you're heading in. 3. The voice sounds a bit too CHIBI - I understand that's your niche (username and all), but I'm looking for a BIT more maturity. Igarashi is an interesting balance between a dollop of innocence and "chibi-ness" and a mature 20-something working woman. ---- I'd highly recommend that you try to get as close as you can to the Japanese voice in the dub video I linked and try to give the same amount of crass, innocence, sweet, yet aggressive tonality that makes her so unique. :)
Thanks for all the feedback, Kvoice! As soon as I get back to my home studio I'll send in a new audio for ya!
