Infinite is a mercenary who allied himself with Eggman, after some trash talk from Shadow. Yeah, his back story is a little lame IF you JUST look at the game lore. If you look at the prequel comic too though, it really explains a whole lot more. Anyway, something very interesting happens as he is fighting Super Sonic at the beginning of the story. It only shows up once though.
