Before Reiner joined T.I.T.A.N, he did not have friends. The only son of Armored Engineering’s owner and a very wealthy socialite, he had no opportunity to meet kids his age. He was homeschooled and with his parents being busy and both having a “children should be seen and not heard” philosophy, he was very lonely. He has always tried to bond with his parents, only to be shot down by both. When he joined TITAN, he not only made friends with Bert (and Annie, to a degree), but found a mother figure in scientist/caretaker Kayla. Because of his lonely childhood, he tends to make friends quickly and can be a little clingy sometimes.

At age 19, Reiner shows a great initiative when it comes to leadership, taking command when necessary or prompted and doing it with fairness to those he’s leading. He becomes something of an older brother figure to many in the 104th, and can be surprisingly inspirational despite his jock countenance. Much like Annie and Bertholdt, not much is known about Reiner. His father owns the main branch of Armored Engineering.
