Uryū Ishida (石田 雨竜, Ishida Uryū) is a Gemischt Quincy residing inKarakura Town. He is a student at Karakura High School, where he is a classmate and friend of Ichigo Kurosaki. He is a member of theWandenreich with the designation "A", one of Yhwach'sSchutzstaffel (親衛隊 (シュッツシュタッフェル), Shuttsushutafferu; German for "Protective Echelon", Japanese for "Elite/Imperial Guards"),[4] and his future successor.
