John found (and pretty much rescued) Paint at the beginning of Book 2. He is very focused on fire magic. He has a younger half-brother named Blaine. John tends to be more outgoing and reckless than his younger brother. His recklessness can get him into a lot of trouble. He can be incredibly stubborn and can butt heads with Paint.
