This character is sensitive, oblivious, cute, caring and determined. He could possibly have a lisp or stumble over some words.  Not looking for bratty / annoying or a super cartoony voice.  Something similar to Dewy from Malcolm in the Middle, the kids from the Peanuts Movie, Fantastic Mr. Fox, or Studio Ghibli English dub voice actors. 

  • Hey Dad, I made you a lunch. I even packed you pickles. I love you. (caring)

  • We were about to get eaten but the monster opened his mouth and his teeth were made of jelly candies! (excited but whispering)

  • (Child playing alone with his toy)

    CHILD: "Full Speed Ahead!"

    CHILD (speaking as the toy)  "But Captain! The anchor is down and all the crewmen are drownded!"
