Iris is the mother of Crystal. She is kind, caring, patient, and a total goofball. She always tries to keep a positive outlook on life, but seems to be hiding the pain of a dark past behind all of her smiles.
She cares a lot for her daughter, and raised her by herself, being a single mother.
This role is technically a minor role, but she's more important and will have more dialogue than the other minor characters.
Her voice should be mature and motherly and must have good comedic timing.
I don't have any specific examples of what I am looking for voice-wise. Just give me your own take!
"Crystal! Dinner is ready! ...Oh! There you are! Ok... I know it looks bad... but it was made with love! This was my first time making this recipe, so... it might not be the best. [she laughs nervously]"
"Hey, hey! Crystal! What did the fish say when he swam into the wall? ...Dam! [She starts laughing hysterically] You... You get it? Dam! Oh, man, someone at work told me that one and it's so bad that it's good."
(Stern) "Crystal, go to your room. Now. [She laughs, revealing she was just joking] Oh, I'm just messing with you! You didn't do anything wrong. But the look on your face was priceless! Oh, you really thought you were in trouble! I'm sorry, sweetie!"
