The Necronomicon has a minor siderole in the pilot since it is what Marc uses to summon charlioe the grim reaper. it can sound like a boy or girl being that it's a book with a talking face it doesn't matter.  just know the necronomicon in the pilot is kinda a smartass at first but then becomes alright before it is off screen.
