Though he initially comes off as a typical vulture of a reporter, Nial Burns is actually pretty friendly and a good boss to Dorothy, even if her antics drive him up a wall. He is one of the sharpest journalists around, and while is very pushy when it comes to getting the best story, he is well respected for being fair and excellent at his job.
For Nial's voice, I'm looking for something in the medium/medium-low range that is raspy and gravelly. Nial is a heavy smoker and his habit is beginning to take a toll on his throat, just make sure he doesn't sound like he's had a tracheotomy, but rather he has a perpetually scratchy throat.
