Old North is Alvarez's childhood friend. They used to lead the gang together, but overtime, old north became less of a leader, and more like another one of the gang banger. He usually sits alone, drinking, and reflecting on the better days. He begins to wonder if staying by Alvarez is the best thing he could be doing with his life.  Especially since North knows that Alvarez can kill his own family without blinking an eye. He's a much more laid back, kinder gentlemen. The Yin to Alvarez's Yang.
