Akiko is Chin's 7th adopted child. She also is Dr. Oto's daughter who steals and violates children if she can't handle their cuteness.

Akiko was born on October 11, 2003 in Yokohama, Japan.

When her younger brother was born in 2006, her mother died from a drug overdose and she ended up living with her father and the new born.

Her father was traumatized by this, which lead him to becoming an alcoholic at 27-years old.

In 2007, Akiko ran away with her brother from her home to avoid getting abused by her aggressively drunk father.

As she arrived at the orphan bus stop, she found Dazai, Kunikida and Chuuya in a basket next to her.

She took the babies on the bus and later got off to live in the Yokohama orphanage along with Koyo/Odasaku.

When Akiko was 11, the headmaster gave her an adoption paper and left the orphanage with her brother.

After she arrived to Chin's house, she and her brother were both taken in by her.
