PROJECT AMBIVALENT (PRODUCTION WORK)

Tr1Har17 for Ahmed (Khan's Father)

Voice Actor
Voice Actor
Ahmed (Khan's Father)
open
Unpaid

Replacement role.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are short Arabic lines, and unlike the other characters in the project, including Khan himself, Ahmed pronounces Khan's name in Arabic. (With the KH sound.) It'd be easier to fit the role if you were familiar with the language or the sounds of letters that aren't included in the English language. Also keep in mind that the series includes LGBT themes in a positive light, and the character is homophobic. If you're not comfortable with these topics, I suggest not auditioning for this role.

CHARACTER: ANTAGONIST. Ahmed was born and raised in the Sudan by a conservative family, that happened to be slightly neglectful.  He holds a grudge against his son, thinking he somehow was involved with the stress that led to the death of Khan's mother. Even to the outside world it's clear that there is constantly an anger festering inside him.  He blames the people around him for his pain and even his mistakes. He doesn't have a basic understanding of emotions, and thinks less of his son, Khan, because of his struggle with mental health, holding back Khan from seeing a positive light.

VOICE: Ahmed, for the most part, only conveys anger in his voice.  As stated before, he pronounces Khan's name in Arabic, and has a Sudanese accent (Arab).

  • (ARABIC, assertive) Khan, isma3-al-kalam!

  • (A chuckle in anger and disbelief) A girl?! I would think you'd take this more seriously. (More angry) Tell me the truth.

  • (Calm, it almost sounds as if he feels guilty.) Your friend is here. He said you'll be looking through the security cameras. If you find something... Let me know.
