Usopp is a liar--he lies all the time, and he knows it, but most of the time, his lies are harmless and meant to be in good fun. He's lived on the same island all his life, but he's dreamed of going out to sea and becoming a brave warrior, just like the stories he's heard about of his father. Usopp is the crew's sniper, and while he can be smart and inventive, most of the time he is rash, selfish, and gets scared quite easily. He uses personas in order to act more brave than he really is, but he is there for his friends when they need him the most, be it as himself, or as the mysterious hero, Sniper King!

*yelling out to Luffy, Zoro, and Nami, trying to ward them away* GET BACK, YOU PIRATES! YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE GREAT CAPTAIN USOPP! This island is under my protection, as well as that of my... *he thinks very quickly, hastily coming up with a big number* 500.000 men!!
*injured but determined* If I can't do this much, then I have no right to call myself a brave warrior of the sea, or even a man...! That's it, I need to do this... my special attack! FIREBIRD STAR!
*Smug, telling a lie* Why, back in my day I shot hundreds of cannonballs, Luffy! Just leave this to me. *shocked/surprised, speaking under his breath* Woah... I can't believe that worked...! *catching himself* I-I MEAN, ALL IN A DAY'S WORK FOR THE MIGHTY USOPP!
