Jani is a very troublesome, yet an adventurous girl who has grown up inside Fort Tarsis for most of her life. At the beginning of the series in issue #1 we see her go from her very early teens, jumping from window to window within the fort. After Freelancer Yarrow returns one day with a strange boy named Kismet, the two become brother and sister forming an uneasy bond at first. Progressively, as Jani gets older, she wants to pilot a Javelin of her own while Kismet is sent off to become a Cypher.
For our younger Jani, we are looking for someone who can portray a small evolution of her voice from a middling child to a teenager. There should be a slight change from a mischevious child to a snarky, sometimes sarcastic, but always adventurous teen. If you feel like you would make a great Jani in her young adult life, then we would encourage you also audition for Jani (Issues #2-3)!

Yarrow: "Evening, Jani. I'll share the story later, but--"
Jani (Early Teens): "Please let me guess? No new scratches, right? No claw marks? There's little metal flakey bits, like from an impact... Scars! They went after the Strider for salvage, right?"
Jani (Mid-Teens): "...Got to come to the festival with me, okay?"
Kismet: "But I don't--"
Jani (Mid-Teens): "You need friends, Kismet. Ones your age. You didn't grow up here but that doesn't mean they see you as-- what did you call him?! Say it to my face!"
Jani (Late-Teens): "So we get jobs on the next Strider through town. Travel the world. Explore ruins. Hope the Dominion doesn't start a war. We climb into our transport every night and look for the Shaper Gods in the sky."
