Kariya Matou is the younger brother of Byakuya Matou, though he has actually severed ties with the Matou family for about ten years out of disgust. Disappointed with the lack of sorceric potential in Byakuya and his son, Shinji, Zouken Matou blames Kariya for allowing the Matou's magical lineage to decline. He's the only righteous person in the show. I guess Saber and Diarmuid are too but... You can't help but feel sorry for this poor guy.

Thank you! I rewatched the first episode of Fate/Zero to remind myself what Kariya sounded like, I found the last two lines in episode one and did my best to match their delivery.
