[TESV - Skyrim] Lielle - Rose of the North - Skyrim Custom Follower

Project Overview

Lielle, Rose of the North, is intended to be a fully-realized custom follower, in the same vein as other premium followers for TES V: Skyrim, such as Inigo, VIlja, and others. She has an in-depth backstory, and a planned list of features including context-specific dialogue, commentary on specific story events and locations, and a romance quest line as a prerequisite to the standard Skyrim marriage quest.

The mod is currently live on the Skyrim Nexus website, as a "pre-Alpha" release. You can find the mod page here.

  • Shortlist and Second Round Auditions

    First and foremost, thank you to all who submitted an audition. I am extremely pleased with the response that this project has gotten, and I'm eager to move forward. That said, there are a handful of auditions I am currently favoring. The shortlist of hopefuls is as follows: - JoJoRawr - Loveliel - uuntiedshoelace As of right now, I am giving it one more day for people to get auditions in. If you impress me, you might find yourself added to the shortlist. Again, the deadline is 2/2/2018. After that, I'll be closing the role and setting up second-round auditions with each actress in turn. Again, thank you all for your interest!

The sound I envision for this character is able to express range of emotion from very upbeat and enthusiastic to morose and melancholy. Think Kristen Bell, but dialed back maybe 2 notches, with a dash of sass and intelligence. Lielle is intended to be a very strong female deuteragonist in the players' stories that they build in-game, and her interactions with the player and the world should reflect her keen wit, intellect and critical eye. There may even be moments where she leans heavily on the forth wall for a good chuckle.

Character Details:

Lielle is a Breton mage, in her mid-20's. She was born in High Rock, and soon after made an orphan by a skirmish between Dominion and Legion forces in the Illiac Bay. She was then relocated to Cyrodiil to live with her paternal uncle and his two sons, where she endured poverty and abuse. Having a natural affinity for magic, she decided to run away as a teenager, and seek out proper training. After 5 years of wandering the war-torn Cyrodiil, she heard rumors of a College of magic in Skyrim, taking new apprentices.

Despite her troubled past, Lielle starts as a very upbeat and bubbly character, extremely happy to be at the College of Winterhold, learning more than she could have ever hoped. For the most part, she is Neutral Good. She's not above theft as a means to survival (having had to resort to it in her younger life), but she has a notable intolerance of violence or oppression against those with no means of defense.

  • "Well, nice to see a new face around here. I'm Lielle. I'm primarily here to learn more about Destruction, Restoration and Alteration, but I also hope to work on enchanting, when I have the time."

  • <Sarcasm> "So, you just brought me along to be a pack mule for all the junk you can't be bothered to carry? This had better be worth it..."

  • <Fear> "Oh, gods... That's a dragon!"

Sees-With-Three-Eyes is an elderly Argonian shaman, herbalist and healer who serves as a matronly figure in Lielle's backstory. She makes an appearance during a backstory flashback quest, delivering some important exposition on elements of Lielle's past.

  • <Amused> Huh… I’ve never been one for seafaring, even in my younger days. And you don’t know the first thing about sailing. No captain in his right mind would take us aboard his ship, and I wouldn’t want to sail under a captain in his wrong mind. No, Rose-Child, best we stay on dry land.

  • <Tranquil Fury> You never told me just how badly your uncle treats you. Now, I know for certain. By the Hist! If I did not have a respect for the sanctity of life that comes with practicing the healing arts, I would march down to that farm and rip him limb from limb!

  • <Sorrowful> Oh, what a tragic path you must walk, Rose-Child… It makes my heart weep…

Markus is Lielle's paternal uncle, a bitter drunkard, who mistreats Lielle during her childhood, when she comes to live with him. He does not appear on screen, and has only two spoken lines of dialogue.

  • <Drunken Rage> By Oblivion, you just wasted my good drink! You’re a useless one, aren’t you? Just as useless as your damned father.

Malek and Marek are Lielle's twin cousins, who appear as children during a backstory flashback. Both can easily be voiced by the same actor/actress.

  • MALEK: <sneering> What are you doing? Pulling weeds for your supper?

  • MAREK: <impatient> C’mon, Malek, we don’t have time for this.

  • MALEK: <accusatory> As if you don’t. You’ve got magic, don’t you? That’s how you did it. Pa says anyone who has magic is an accident waiting to happen.
