About kymtastic

With a strong foundation in linguistic analysis, Kym now spends her free time analyzing performance pieces and locking herself in rooms with microphones. She can be found roaming the Los Angeles/Orange County in search of workshops and conventions.

From 2001-2003, Kym worked with the Amateur Voice Acting community online under the pseudonym Cricket.  This independent work exposed her to techniques in audio editing (first in Goldwave, then in Garage Band and Adobe Audition), dubbing, voice matching and working in collaborative environments under tight deadlines.  She worked on over 40 projects before setting aside her love of voice acting to focus on higher education.

College gave her the opportunity to combine her love of narrative and semiotics. While she worked as the Historian in Sigma Tau Delta (the English Honors Society) and an editor on Dash (the campus’ literary journal), she earned a Minor in Anthropology and a Bachelor’s in English. In 2013, she graduated from California State University Fullerton with a Master’s from the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics.
