About Kazee

Who am I?

My name is Kyle Fullford. I usually go by "Kazee". (Kah-Zee) I'm in my 30's. I have a BA in Theatre and had spent the early portions of my career working at summer stock theatres, repertory theatres and I've also been known to take a few gigs on the side doing scenic design, prop design and have had the opportunity to perform in musicals, Shakspearian plays as well as some other more modern plays such as Murder  of Crows. I've had the pleasure of working with folks from Disney, Las Vegas, New England as well as working for a few schools, and computer game companies.

I'm at a point in my life where I have a day job that keeps me fed, clothed and sheltered; all while giving me some "fun money" to toss around at passion projects. If you want to take a look at one of my more recent projects you can head over to www.FuzzyLogic.TV. (server is currently under maintenance)

I'm here primarily to pick up voice acting gigs. I have a modest sound recording studio in my home. Hardwood floors, horse hair plaster walls and a fairly asymmetrical floor plan complimented with the truck load of audio equipment I've collected over the years, I've got a fairly nice set up where I can spend my afternoons and weekends working on character development, recording audio reels and mastering them on my digital audio workstation (DAW).

How do I typically produce my audition reels?

I like to ultimately submit something that I consider to be "well polished". Given that these auditions are usually not short notice and are not in person; I try to do as much character development as possible. If the backstory or character is based off of something that is already published, then I will read/watch/expose myself to as much content as possible so that I have a firm understanding of the character's mindset.

Once I feel I have that intimate understanding of the character I'll usually spend an entire afternoon recording in my studio. Unless specified otherwise, my audition will feature the script read only once. If you'd prefer the lines be said multiple times or in different accents or tones then I can do that for you. I just need to know in advance. I'll use my DAW to cut, splice and edit the reel until I have something that accurately demonstrates my interpretation of the character as well as shows off my skill in front of the microphone and processing it through my DAW. For every minute of audition reel I may submit, I will have probably spent five hours producing it.

For this reason, I will not submit multiple auditions for different projects simultaneously. My concern here is that each project will be given a great audition reel to review, multiple projects leaders or directors may choose to cast me and then their production schedules will later be found to overlap and conflict with one another. I try to avoid this at all costs because I want to make sure that a role I'm chosen for is given 100% of my energy and attention. If I have recently submitted an audition to a project that is still in the process of selecting its cast, then I will not submit another audition for any other project until either the production schedule has been outlined for me or I have been told that someone else was selected for the role I had auditioned for.

Please don't let this discourage you from reaching out to me. I realize that there are some cases where the casting process might take a month or longer and that during that time I could take on smaller gigs and finalize them before hearing back. If you think you have something you'd like for me to take a look at, send me a message and I'll see if its something I can commit to or not.

What can you expect from me during the production?

I'm pretty flexible when it comes to contributing to the project on the whole. If all you want for me to do is to provide you a voice for your character than I'm more than willing to record a session (however long it may be) and to forward it to your audio engineer for processing. If you want me to clean up the audio and sync it to an already existing video clip than I'm more than willing to do that for you as well. This may have some effect on the pay rate for the gig.  You can see my pricing matrix further down below.

You can consider me still under contract until the production is either published or considered canceled. If at some point during the production the decision is made to rewrite the script and it turns out something I had previously mastered now needs to be recorded, I will work with you to get that done. I realize that all forms of theatrical production are collaborative works of art and that sometimes things need to be done multiple times even if the first time was right.

Can I/we keep you on retainer?

To some degree, yes. I prefer to work on one single project start to finish before moving onto the next one. If you've casted me to portray a character in a production that is in an episodic format and it does so well that a second season or continuation of it is planned, I could continue to work on the project with you as that character or other characters. Letting me know sooner than later makes this an easier thing to accommodate.  If I'm already commuted to another project I may have to turn it down.

Feel free to send me a message whether that's professional or personal. I love sharing stories about "the show were everything went wrong" or even about some of the folks I've had the pleasure of meeting throughout my career.

What Kazee is looking for

I'm mostly looking for fun and energetic rolls. Love getting that dopamine high.

If you've got something that doesn't fit that archetype though, I'm more that willing to give it a try.
