Besides completing multiple in-person advanced voice-over courses in the Netherlands, I'm sharpening my acting skills with the amazing Sarah Nightingale, and expanding my range even further by taking improv classes and siging lessons. For my project 'The Underground: Episode 1', I had the absolute honor to work with Kirsten aka. VoicedByKirsten as a VA not only for one but two characters!!
Before I get into the directly work related reasons why casting her will be a undeniable blessing to your project that you definitely don't want to miss out on, I want to say, that even on a personal level, she is a remarkable person. When I cast her for the roles of both, Sanzu Yunkar and her sister Byore Yunkar, unlike I imagine others might do, the first thing she asked me was, whether it would really be okay to take both roles, not because her truly impressive voice range couldn't deliver some of the cleanest and most perfectly nuanced voice-work I had heard thusfar, but out of consideration for her fellow VAs and the community! And it is this sort of regard, kindness and care that you'll find in her voice work for your characters!
Working with Kirsten was a pleasure right from the start and already during the audition, it became clear that she doesn't just act, she truly immerses herself in the characters she voices, which is a quality, that I would say sets her apart from many other VAs. And that quality really shows in her voice work as well. Where the multiple takes of others might be an attempt to hit the right tone for the character, for Kirsten, it seemed to never be a question; each and every spoken line felt *right*, she didn't just voice the characters, she understood them both to an extent, where the question was more about completely plausible nuances that fully took in the context of the given character background and the overarching scene and offered a wealth of creative choice for bringing together dialogue in the fine-tuning. The feedback loops (althought quite honestly, there weren't many required) were extremely fast and productive, and her grasp and understanding of the characters, could carry even early weaknesses in my own direction!
This is my wholehearted recommendation for anyone who is looking for an extremely competent VA that not only delivers quality, but delivers it with the depth and immersion that your characters deserve!
It has been an absolute honour working with you Kirsten and I desperately hope, that we get to work together again, in future projects!!!!
