Hi everyone~! Ciao a tutti~! Hei alle sammen~! Konnichiwa~!

My name's Ilaria or just Ila for short. As my headline says, I'm fluently bilingual in both 🇬🇧English and 🇮🇹Italian, and also speak 🇳🇴Norwegian at a high-intermediate level and have previously studied some 🇯🇵Japanese.

I grew up between both England and Italy, have degrees in Linguistics (BA) and Multilingualism (MA), and I teach both languages professionally.

So, what brings me to this site, then, you ask?

Well, I've always been interested in media that contains voice acting and voice over work (audiobooks, anime, cartoons, video games, foreign language films/TV shows, role-playing and so on). Firstly, because it's what I grew up with, since many non-English speaking countries tend to dub literally everything; secondly, because it turns out that being a nerd wasn't just a phase, but a lifelong gig; and thirdly, as I already spend a copious amount of time in front of a mic teaching, I wouldn't mind lending my voice to other more creative projects too. 😄

I'd be more than happy to also help anyone here who is learning either English or Italian as s second language with tips and advice for improving their accent and speaking skills, so feel free to send me a message.
