This is a casting call for a fan-made Fire Emblem story that is set to be converted into a visual novel titled Fire Emblem: Affinities. I intend to cast the remaining protagonists and antagonists. In order to keep a smaller cast, it is possible for one voice actor to be chosen for two roles. Please mention if you are comfortable with being considered for more than one character.
This is a long-term project with live direction. Writing, editing, and coding take up the majority of the time, though, so this doesn't reflect the workload and recording time. If you are interested in and have the time to see a project develop and come to fruition, feel free to audition!
As much as I would like to turn this into a paid project for voice actors, payment is not something I can guarantee - hence why the voice actor roles are listed as "zero budget".

War has just broken out between two neighboring countries, Nohr and Ylisse. The two were previously on good terms until Nohr suddenly attacked not even a year ago. Kirie Adair, a trained pegasus knight, has joined the Ylissean army and was sent to a patrol camp with her impulsive teenage best friend - but skilled healer - Maria. Within their first few months at the site, though, things have already started to pick up. Just what is Nohr up to? And can Kirie manage to keep her own goals in sight in the midst of war?
**I am aware that the places are from different titles, Fire Emblem Fates and Awakening. This story is not meant to occur in either - or any game, for that matter - but to create something new with pre-existing names and concepts. I have no association with Intelligent Systems's Intellectual Property (IP).**

Name: Atticus
Class: Sniper, Tactician
Likes: Solitude, sleeping, bow tuning
Appearance: Wavy, cowlicked hair. As a slim man, the Ylissean uniform often appears to be too loose for him. Atticus wears a hip quiver, a finger tab, an arm guard, and a pair of black boots.
Atticus is the second-in-command of the Ylissean camp and Riza’s right-hand man. Alongside being an experienced archer, his intelligence and intuition have rightfully earned him the role of the camp’s tactician. May also be narcoleptic, but has yet to be diagnosed.
(Yawning) It's afternoon already? But I only fell asleep for a few minutes...
You... You interrupted my precious slumber. And for that, you will pay.

Allen is encountered in the first mission. He and his sister, Aya, are the main characters in the said mission but remain as minor roles afterward.

Aya is Allen's younger sister. They are introduced in the first mission and have a minor role in the story.

Esen is an introverted Nohrian kitsune who seeks to make things right in her country. For years, she has been working undercover to sabotage Erebus’s plans.
(whispering)
Shhh... I'm trying to help you! Get back here!
Have we met before? I get the feeling that we have, but I can't quite wrap my head around how that's possible.
After nine years, I'm done wishing I was someone else!
Name: Ashera
Appearance: Straight, brown hair. Dark eyes. She shares a slight resemblance with Kirie.
Ashera is Kirie and Kalin’s mother. She succumbed to illness when her children were young, but some people still have vivid memories of her.
Kalin, meet your little sister! She'll get older and play with you someday, but right now, you need to be extra careful with her.
Did Kalin run off again? (sighs) He must have gotten that from me.
(Telling a story with great exaggeration)
The little boy threw the stone in the air, and poof! When he looked down, he wasn't even human anymore! Trust me, I was there.
Name: Shabina
Class: Manakete
Likes: Making friends
Shabina is an Ylissean leader who follows her duty to fight against Nohr. A wise Manakete who has lived for many centuries, she joins the war for the sake of her dragonkin.
Although Shabina has lived for a long time, she appears to be a middle-aged woman when she is not transformed into a Manakete. As such, her voice should sound mellow rather than old.
Why did I join this war, you ask? I have people and kin who I want to protect.
They say there are legends about the heat of our flames. Good, because I will show you what it's like to burn in a living hell!

Name: Zephyr
Class: Dark Knight, Great master
Likes: Performing tricks, learning new things
Zephyr is a skilled mage and serves as an Ylissean leader. Capable of wielding both dark and light magic, the knowledge that he possesses is an asset to Ylisse. Zephyr adores his young daughter and cares for her deeply.
I don't mean to brag, but if you're looking for a dark and light magic user, I'm probably the one you're looking for.
(Disappointed)

Name: Erebus
Class: Sorcerer
Likes: Experiments, doing research
Erebus is a Nohrian sorcerer and the Nohrian king's closest advisor. For years, he's experimented with magic and stone energies with the intention of using them to weaponize an army of Risen.
Ah, Quintin! How have you been doing, my boy?
You say that you'll defeat me, and yet, here you are. Pathetic.
(Maniacal laughter)
Name: Primo
Class: Warrior
Likes: Strength, power
Primo is the first Nohrian leader. He is the epitome of “all brawn and no brains”. Has an undefeated streak.
Primo is an intimidating foe who could use more brain cells, so this should be reflected in his voice. Possibly gruff?
After I'm done, you're gonna wish you never came back. Bring it!

Zenith and Nadir are twins who concurrently hold the title of the second Nohrian leader. They are extremely skilled in espionage and look much younger than their actual age.
As these characters are twins, I do feel as though their voices should be somewhat similar to one another. This doesn't necessarily mean that one voice actor will be assigned both roles, though.

As this project will be a visual novel, character sprites will be shown during dialogues. I have sketched ideas for certain characters as a starting point. The style of art would ideally be similar to that of Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates, but please share any work that you feel is fitting.
The visual novel engine being used is Ren'Py, but familiarity and experience with any visual novel are a bonus.
