About Shan "Blu" Oakley

Hello!
My name is Shannon Oakley, or "Royal Blu" if you see me on the internet. Blu for short. I'll answer to both!
I am a passionate and nerdy actor formerly in Los Angeles, CA (but now located a bit outside of Dallas!) looking to expand my circle. I am a graduate with a BFA in acting and I adore all things VO. I have been livestreaming as a career for several years now and I'm finally getting back into the wonderous world of VO and have since gone remote! I even switched my streaming to full-time Live2D VTubing so I'm voice acting around the clock.


My dreams are to set foot into the world of anime dubbing, videogame voiceovers, or any animation/character work in general; but I am commercially trained and able to jump into narration, commercial, or audiobooks easily. I have a naturally deeper (and yet youthful) voice for a female, so young male characters are my strongest area; the "Ash Ketchums" as I call them. However, I am trained in vocal placement and can do a variety of vocal styles to suit your needs. I've also been working a lot with developing a lower, mature feminine placement as well.

I am trained in Alexander technique for vocal work and prefer to use Meisner for acting (however also trained in Stanislavsky). I am also a trained period/Shakespearean actor.

I have trained under several professional actors at SCAD, including Craig Anton (Phil of the Future, the Office), Joan McMurtrey (any Shonda Rhimes show), John Prosky (True Blood, Scandal, Straight Outta Compton) and more.

During my undergrad program, I was trained in all types of acting techniques (Meisner, Stanislavsky, Alexander, etc) as well as different genres of acting. I am experienced in Film/TV comedy and drama, voiceover, voice acting, stage comedy and drama, even (staged) combat! I am certified with the SAFD in unarmed, single sword, and rapier-dagger dual wielding. Whatever you need, I can probably do!
