The Princess of Love is a fan comic book set in the universe of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It comprises a collection of short stories narrating events from the life of the Princess Cadance, told from the perspectives of other characters, including Princess Celestia, Luna, Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Shining Armor, Chrysalis, Sombra, and even Tempest Shadow.

I imagine him as a way too overcaring daddy who can't see the wrong in doing so (basically, his daughter will become an antagonist at some point because of a god complex), protecting her even against his own wife.
